Suns Not Expected to Show Interest in Kemba Walker, per Report

Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro reports the Phoenix Suns aren't expected to show interest in Kemba Walker.

Adding one more piece to the roster is a dream for many Phoenix Suns fans, and the perfect opportunity is about to arise.

After missing out on players such as Dennis Schroder to add to their bench, The Athletic's Shams Charania is reporting the Detroit Pistons are expected to waive guard Kemba Walker.

Walker would be a dream fit for Phoenix, but Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro says that won't happen.

Walker was acquired in a trade and has been expected to be a salary dump for Detroit since his arrival.

Now, that looks to come to fruition.

Earlier in August, one anonymous NBA exec told Heavy.com Walker would be a good fit in Phoenix

“He [Walker] was the Plan B for the Clippers but they went and got John Wall so now he’s got to figure out something else,” the executive told Sean Deveney.

“There was talk about him going to Charlotte, and that would be a good story for a team that might need one with the (Miles) Bridges stuff. But if he wants to play for a contender, he’s probably best off looking at Phoenix. They need another point guard, they need depth behind Paul. Give him a non-guaranteed deal and see how it goes, you can still make a change in January.”

However, it doesn't look like those thoughts will materialize.

The Suns look to head into the season with guys such as Cameron Payne, Landry Shamet and Duane Washington Jr. in the arsenal behind Paul.
