Suns Officially Announce Frank Jackson Signing

The team also signed Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot.

The Phoenix Suns officially announced the signing of two players on Saturday, as Frank Jackson and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot are now officially on the roster, which is up to 18 players. 

Here's the official Suns press release on the moves and more information on the two players:

"Jackson (6-3, 205 pounds) averaged a career-best 10.6 points in 53 games with the Detroit Pistons last season. He scored in double figures 27 times last season, including a season-high 27 points off the bench on Nov. 19 at Golden State. A four-year NBA veteran, Jackson holds career averages of 8.5 points on 43.3% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range in 213 games (31 starts) with New Orleans and Detroit. He has scored 20-plus points on 16 occasions throughout his career, scoring a career-high 31 points with the Pelicans vs. Orlando on Aug. 13, 2020.

"The 24-year-old was originally selected with the 31st overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by Charlotte before being traded to New Orleans on draft night. He entered the NBA following one season at Duke University where he averaged 10.9 points and helped the Blue Devils to an ACC Tournament title. Born in Washington D.C. before attending high school in Highland, Utah, Jackson was Co-MVP of the 2016 McDonald’s All-American Game.

"Luwawu-Cabarrot (6-7, 220 pounds) most recently averaged 4.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in 52 games (18 starts) with the Atlanta Hawks last season. A six-year NBA veteran, he holds career averages of 5.9 points on 39.1% shooting and 2.0 rebounds in 328 games (60 starts) with Philadelphia, Oklahoma City, Chicago, Brooklyn and Atlanta. Luwawu-Cabarrot entered the NBA as the 24th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by the 76ers following four professional seasons for clubs in France and Serbia.

"A native of Cannes, France, the 27-year-old regularly represents his native country in international competition. Earlier this month, he helped France to a silver-medal finish at FIBA EuroBasket 2022. Last year, Luwawu-Cabarrot earned a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, matching the best Olympic finish ever for the French men’s national basketball team. He scored 11 points off the bench in the gold-medal match against the USA."
