Jalen Brunson Speaks on Game 7 Blowout vs. Phoenix Suns

In this story:
By now, if you're a Phoenix Suns fan, you've likely read every bit of information regarding the team's Game 7 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
After advancing to a 2-0 series lead, Phoenix crashed and burned in dramatic style at home in one of the most embarrassing conclusions to a playoff series in quite some time.
We've seen a handful of Suns speak on the loss recently, which includes head coach Monty Williams:
"We had a bad day, but we had an unbelievable season. Unfortunately, in sports and even in society, we focus on the one bad thing. It hurt like crazy, and it still hurts," said Williams. "It was embarrassing to play that way, but as the dust settles and I look at the season from a holistic perspective, I look at all the good stuff that happened."
Center Deandre Ayton also threw his two cents in on the matter:
"Game 7 was an anomaly. We let that get away from us as a team. That is all in the past. We're going to look forward. We are going to move on."
We've seen a handful of comments from a Phoenix perspective, but rarely has a player from the Mavericks expressed their point of view.
That changed when Jalen Brunson appeared on "The Old Man and the Three" podcast and was asked if the Mavericks at all felt worried about the series heading into their first of two elimination games:
"None. None at all," said Brunson. "I can confidently say that. We just focused on Game 6. We didn't focus on Game 7. We didn't focus on going back to Phoenix. What do we have to do to win this game right now. We went out there, do what we had to do, and put us in position to go back to Game 7.
"Once we got to Game 7, we knew we had a chance to win. Obviously they were up 3-2, they were going back home. They have a little bit of expectation on that side. I knew we could win, I didn't think we could win like that. I didn't think it was going to happen like that. That was nuts. When I say that was crazy, like we're really up 30 going into halftime.
Brunson also acknowledged that Luka Doncic knew he had the exact amount of points Phoenix had (27) heading into the break. Dallas' lead eventually grew to 46 points in the second half.
Phoenix became just the second team in NBA history to have 64 or more wins in the regular season and not reach the conference finals.
"There was just so much going on. It was quiet in there, I've never seen something like that in my life," said Brunson.
