Suns Fall to Third in Kevin Durant Next Team Odds
The Phoenix Suns' offseason is nearly complete.
Extensions for Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton were awarded by the team, while other pieces such as Bismack Biyombo were brought back to Phoenix. The Suns also welcome new faces such as Josh Okogie, Damion Lee and Jock Landale.
Not much has changed for a roster that has been nothing short of competitive the last two years, and as we creep past the initial rush of free agency, the only true situation for the Suns to settle is the status of Cameron Johnson's contract extension.
However, Phoenix has been heavily tied to trade rumors involving Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant, who requested a move weeks ago but has yet to see a new team.
The Nets have a high asking price and aren't budging at this point in time, as the team is more than happy to play the waiting game thanks to Durant having four more years left on his current deal.
Along with the Miami Heat, the Suns were reportedly listed as one of Durant's two preferred destinations after submitting the request.
Yet that hasn't stopped other teams from plunging themselves into the sweepstakes for KD, as the Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics have been just a few teams rumored to be interested.
While the future of Durant is still in question, oddsmakers believe the most likely scenario is Brooklyn welcoming back their future Hall of Fame scorer with open arms.

Writer Brian Good offered this explanation on the movement in odds:
"The Nets, whose Kevin Durant next team odds originally sat at +850 when the superstar's trade request became public, are presently odds-on favorites in the market. At -140, they are given a 58.3% implied probability to retain Durant," said Good.
"Next up when it comes to Kevin Durant next team odds is none other than the Toronto Raptors. At +350, oddsmakers like the chances of the Raptors landing Durant. The key here is they have the young players, like Scottie Barnes and OG Anunoby, to send back to Brooklyn in a deal.
"Originally, the Suns were the favorites to be Durant's next team. However, that was reliant on Deandre Ayton being available in a trade. Now that Ayton has signed with the Suns and appears to be staying put, those odds are out to +425 he ends up in Phoenix."
