Suns Hope to Regroup After Dismal Road Trip

In this story:
The Phoenix Suns can't seem to find their footing.
Injuries still plague the lineup as the Suns are missing key players such as Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Cam Johnson. The team has yet to offload Jae Crowder in a trade and while Phoenix has seen previous role players step up, that hasn't been the case as of late.
The Suns have lost their last nine-of-ten games after falling to the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday evening 136-106.
It was a game where Phoenix initially dictated things before the Grizzlies clawed back and gained momentum. In the early stages of the third quarter, the Suns were level with Memphis at 70-70.
After a 39-point third quarter, it felt as if the game was lost even with one quarter to play.
“We got to regroup and go back home. I mean, it's been a tough, tough stretch for us on a number of fronts—the wins and losses, the injuries, we lose [Josh Okogie] tonight. He's playing his tail off, and then he gets hit in the nose, he's done for the night," said head coach Monty Williams following the loss.
"You don't have to be real deep about it. Just pack it up and go home and get ready for the next one. The thing that I stress to our guys, that I congratulate them, that I tell them how grateful we are: we just don't quit. We weren't making shots, but the guys kept playing hard and they continue to challenge each other. We've been dealt a tough hand, and everything you want is on the other side of hard, and you just got to keep going until you get past it.”
Their recent four-game road trip began with a over the Golden State Warriors, perhaps giving some light that the Suns could turn things around. Yet losses against the Nuggets, Timberwolves and Grizzlies sent Phoenix home packing with a 1-3 record on their trip.
They allowed 124 points per game in that stretch.
Now, the Suns - three games under .500 - head back home for a five-game homestand that will see tough teams such as the Nets, Pacers, Grizzlies, Hornets and Mavericks visit the Footprint Center.
