The Phoenix Suns sent shockwaves through the entire league when they acquired Kevin Durant shortly before the NBA All-Star break.

We've yet to see Durant actually join the team on the court as he's nearing recovery from a MCL sprain suffered in early January, though he has been on the Suns' bench during games to show support for his teammates.

He was also officially introduced in Phoenix in front of fans on Thursday, an electric atmosphere that he wants to make good on.

"I could feel the excitement coming off the plane," said Durant. "Everywhere I've gone so far, fans have given me a warm welcome. But I still feel like I got to prove myself every day. They set a high standard for the players here. I can tell. I can tell about how dedicated they are to the team. So there's a high standard set every night for each player and I want to reach that every day.

"So I felt like I still got to prove myself. I want to put good stuff on film, every day. That's the only thing I'm concerned with at this point in my life is putting good stuff on the film every night. So I'm looking forward to doing that for the Suns fans and hopefully they accept me after that."

Durant is now a Sun, and that is sure to shake up the race for the Western Conference crown.

Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant was asked about the move and gave a two-word response: "I'm ready."

Morant - if you recall - did an interview with Malika Andrews earlier in the season and was asked which team he felt like Memphis needed to get through to win the NBA Finals.

When asked if there was any team in the Western Conference, Morant responded with "I'm fine in the West".

Expectations certainly exist on both sides, though Morant looks to embrace any challenge that comes his way.

Durant and his crew in Phoenix would like to think the same.
