NBA Exec Believes Suns are Pursuing Damian Lillard

In this story:
The Phoenix Suns already have some stars on their roster, as guys such as Kevin Durant and Devin Booker ensure fans flocking to the Footprint Center get some sort of entertainment value for their tickets on a nightly basis.
Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton are other notable names, though their futures in the Valley are under heavy speculation. Phoenix hasn't exactly gotten the best out of either player recently, and the organization's only way to create significant money to improve the roster would be departing from both in some capacity.
It's no secret that stars run the show in the NBA, and (in theory) the more you have, the better. New Suns owner Mat Ishbia has shown the ability to make splash moves, and the upcoming summer should be very interesting to say the least.
One NBA executive told Heavy.com's Sean Deveney the Suns are exploring every avenue to obtain Portland Trail Blazers PG Damian Lillard.
“There is a lot that can happen there,” the executive said. “The Suns need depth all over that roster. They want to free up their payroll. They want to see if there is a way to bring in Dame. They want to see what they can do with a Deandre Ayton deal.
"There is a lot on the table. And the [Los Angeles] Lakers need to know where they are going with [D’Angelo] Russell. They’re not just letting him walk. They traded a pick for him. And who knows if they could get Chris to sign a vet minimum deal or what?”
Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro says there's no chance.

Realistically, it would be tough to manufacture a suitable deal Portland would accept for Lillard. Also, Lillard has very much been against forming super teams, which would obviously happen in Phoenix with Booker and Durant.
Never say never - and the Suns are at least exploring all avenues - yet it's tough to buy Dame Time ticking in the Valley.
