Phoenix Suns' Kevin Durant Fires Back at Criticism for Being 'Sensitive'

In this story:
Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant has no issues defending himself on social media when he is criticized by others.
However, this usually causes a lot of backlash, some critics even referring to him as “sensitive” which Durant feels is unfair.
"I don't see this talked about — I see Damian Lillard, I see LeBron, I see Draymond, I see lots of great players in our league speak up on social media, but they don't get that 'sensitive' rep," Durant told FOX Sports last week.
Despite other players moving teams often during the free agency period, Durant feels his criticism stems from his move to the Golden State Warriors back in 2016.
"C'mon, you know what happened. Because I went to the Warriors," Durant said via Fox Sports, "People still don't like that part of everything. People want to silence me for some reason. I mean, I can't pinpoint exactly why.
"But it's just like I've seen it, it's not just a ‘me’ thing, like, there are a lot of players amongst a lot of sports that interact with their people on Twitter, Instagram, socials, and I don't hear the 'sensitive' rep about them."
If you're a famous athlete, you're bound to be criticized and for Durant it is no different. However, rather than criticize his game fans are quick to bash his personality which is odd to say the least.
"I get it," Durant said via Fox Sports. "You need something. My game, you can't clearly see the flaws in my game. Or in my personality, off-the-court stuff, I don't have any major blemishes. So, you've got to find something – ‘I don't like this KD, he tweets too much.'"
Rather than being soft or sensitive, Durant feels it is better for him to respond to his haters as it is more genuine
"If there's something [inaccurate] that's said about me that's being portrayed to the fans, I definitely want to dispute that because you can hear directly from me," Durant said via Fox Sports. "On Twitter, it's quick where I can just say, 'Here, this is what I'm thinking in the moment, and then it's over with.' I think it's great for fans to get insight on players."
Durant has a chance to silence all of his critics during this year's NBA playoffs. If he is able to lead the Suns to their first ever championship, that will be a huge accolade for his personal legacy.
There will certainly be critics bashing every move Durant makes during the playoffs but it is on him to use it as motivation.
