With how many draft picks the Oklahoma City Thunder have, the expectation is that trades happen over the next few years. Whether it’s for proven talent, or more young prospects, the team is in a good position.

When it comes to the type of player Oklahoma City should be looking at, Moses Moody of the Golden State Warriors is an ideal candidate. Not only is he on his rookie scale deal at 21 years old, but he’s also a player that is good enough to earn minutes already.

With that in mind, Golden State acquired Chris Paul during the offseason and is focused on winning now. If the Warriors decide they want to maximize their short-term title odds, Moody could be a player that returns win-now talent.

A team that could facilitate that type of deal is the Thunder, who have a few quality veterans. It would also likely require draft capital to pull of this type of deal, but it’s possible.

Proposed Trade: Oklahoma City sends Tre Mann, Kenrich Williams and two future first round picks to Golden State for Moses Moody.

Kenrich Williams is a player that embodies everything the Warriors look for in their players. He’s a piece that can play several positions and help them make a title push. Furthermore, Golden State wouldn’t be mortgaging its future by trading Moody away given the Thunder would be sending the Warriors Tre Mann and two future picks.

This isn’t a deal that the Warriors would want to do today, but later in the season if a win-now move needs to be made, OKC should call.
