OKC Thunder: Isaiah Joe Set to Face Off Against Former Team

In this story:
Thunder guard Isaiah Joe has been an integral piece to Oklahoma City's current six-game winning streak, and could continue to be heading into Saturday afternoon where he and his team are set to take on the 10-5 Philadelphia 76ers.
If the Thunder pull this one out at home, it'd give them the top spot in the West with a 12-4 record and mark the first time the team has been seven games over .500 since 2020.
The usual name you hear in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has certainly been leading the hot streak, erupting for multiple 40-point performances while rookie Chet Holmgren has been emerging as a highly talented contributor — but these wins are coming from deep within the bench.
Headlined by Joe, Cason Wallace and Kenrich Williams, Oklahoma City's depth is well established 15 games into the year, and these wins could be just as well attributed to that along with its star power.
Joe now has the opportunity to torch the team he was drafted to in the 76ers — something he has been exceptional at while in his two years with the Thunder.
A season ago, the 6-foot-3 sharpshooting guard did not have the most electric outings against his former team, but they were still quite productive.
In the two contests he saw them, Joe posted a combined 15 points on 2-of-7 from three in 35 minutes.
Looking at his most recent performances during the Thunder's winning streak, Joe has shot an astounding 77.8% from 3-point distance on 27 attempts in just five contests — including one where he notched a perfect 7-of-7 from distance against the San Antonio Spurs.
His deep range shooting prowess has helped propel Oklahoma City to the top spot in the NBA in 3-point shooting percentage.
It's clear Joe has made a leap this season.
Improving on his scoring total, 3-point and field goal percentage, he's been a massive part of the continuity and overall flow of this Thunder offense early in the season, and should continue to do so.
With Jalen Williams out due to injury, he'll have even more of an opportunity to put that on display against Philadelphia Saturday afternoon at Paycom Center.
