The Oklahoma City Thunder have played five games in February. Coming into the month, the Thunder held a solid opportunity to bring themselves above .500 and get in a solid position.

So far, they’ve gone 3-2 in those games. They’re up to a 27-28 record on the season because of it. Their two losses, though, have been bad ones. They could have beaten the Houston Rockets, who they are much better than, and they took a big loss to the Golden State Warriors where they got blown out.

Again, this has the potential for the Thunder to have a big game. They’ve won their last two games and have six more games remaining in the month. The remainder of the month can still be a huge success. They hold the lone spot for the tenth seed. If they can continue turning the corner on the month and building off their momentum, they can continue to push for their position in the Play-In tournament.

However, many of the Western Conference teams in the tight knit playoff race ended up being buyers. So, the rest of the month becomes that much more important. With those teams being buyers, they’ve all improved while the Thunder made a couple moves that aren’t needle movers.

For the rest of February, the Thunder only have one back-to-back, which is a huge win for them. With the significance of going on a winning streak, finishing the month out 4-2, bringing their record on the month to 7-4, would be more than ideal.
