Anthony Edwards responds after model's abortion accusations

An Instagram model says the Wolves star paid her $100,000.

Facing claims that he told a woman he allegedly impregnated to have an abortion and tried to pay her $100,000 to do so, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards says his comments were made in the "heat of the moment" and don't align with "what I believe and who I want to be as a man."

Paige Jordae, an Instagram model with hundreds of thousands of followers, posted alleged screenshots on the social media platform that accuse Edwards of impregnating her and encouraging her to have an abortion.

Jordae claims Edwards wired her $100,000 and demanded to see video of the boxes of pills for the abortion. Alleged messages from the 22-year-old NBA player include "Get a abortion lol" and "I will send you money to help you out."

"I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me, and that are not aligned with what I believe and who I want to be as a man," Edwards wrote in a statement. "All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them. I am handling my personal matters privately and will not be commenting on them any further at this time."

Included in the alleged screenshots Jordae published on Instagram is a photo of a pending wire transfer for $100,000. The image however doesn't reveal the full identities of the parties involved in the transaction, nor is it clear if the transfer was fully processed.

The Timberwolves have not commented on the situation ahead of their game Monday night against the Miami Heat. Edwards is listed as questionable on the injury report with a right hip pointer.
