Washington Wizards Fall to the Dallas Mavericks 130-117

Wizards are now 2-9 on the season

The Dallas Mavericks were without Kyrie Irving last night in the District as he was nursing a left foot injury. Even without Irving, the Mavericks were just too tough offensively for this young Wizards team to handle. The Mavericks would increase in the win column with a record of 9-3, while the Wizards go down to 2-9, in the 130-117 finish.

The Wizards starting five of Kyle Kuzma, Jordan Poole, Daniel Gafford, Tyus Jones, and Deni Avdija left much to be desired. Kuzma tried to get things going to close out the first half. Kuzma would finish the game with 22 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Kuzma has scored 20+ points in nine of 11 games this season and at least 15 points in all 11 games.

The leading scorer for the Dallas Mavericks was Tim Hardaway Jr who finished the game with 31 points.

Jordan Poole had 16 points, five rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Poole has scored in double digits in all games so far this season. He also has at least one steal in seven games this season.

Wizards forward Deni Avdija scored 15 points and hit season highs with three three-pointers and three steals.

Wizards center Daniel Gafford added 10 points and a team best nine rebounds and two assists. Gafford has added nine rebounds to the stat line in three of his last four games.

Wizards rookie Bilal Coulibaly scored 10 points as well and added in a career best eight rebounds, three assists, and one block coming onto the court from off the bench. Coulibaly has now scored in double digits in four straight games.

Next up for the Wizards at Capital One Arena are the New York Knicks on Friday, November 17 at 7:00pm EST.
