Thursday night the Wizards played against the Utah Jazz and added another loss to their January total with a score only 15 points less than their opponent. Kyle Kuzma's 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists along with Tyus Jones' double-double of 12 points and 14 assists were definitely the bright side of this game.

On first game as the head coach "It felt okay. I was very proud of our guys but we didn't shoot the ball very well tonight and we competed though"
"We talked about raising our standards [in the locker room] and competing and I really believe, I think I saw that tonight. Even when it didn't look great offensively because we were missing shots, we kept competing and that has to be the bar for us moving forward"
Kyle Kuzma
"Obviously it was probably just a tough day overall for us, physically one because we had a back to back and then mentally as well just with the change in staff that we had and going through 40 games, our effort, our energy that we displayed as a team probably wasn't up to par and same for that on the other side as well so naturally I guess something had to make a change and that's just what the front office decided to do"
