Huddle Up: Bucs challenging Mike Williams to improve
An abbreviated look at what’s going on around the NFL on Tuesday, Aug. 23:
• After Bucs receiver Mike Williams was shut down by New England's Devin McCourty in a preseason matchup, Tampa Bay coach Raheem Morris challenged Williams to step up.
• Colts owner Jim Irsay hinted over the weekend that Peyton Manning may not be ready for Week 1. But Indianapolis hasn't shown any urgency when it comes to signing another veteran QB.
• Minnesota signed RB Caleb King after King went undrafted in Monday's supplemental draft. He may be nothing more than a camp body for the Vikings, though.
• Terrell Thomas' torn ACL, suffered Monday night vs. the Bears, opened the door for Aaron Ross to jump back in to the Giants' starting rotation in the secondary.
• Dallas currently has a whopping four kickers on its roster after signing Shayne Graham. The question is: Which one will still be around come Week 1?
• Speculation's already flying around that the Raiders may move Terrelle Pryorto wide receiver, after landing the troubled star in the supplemental draft.
• Baltimore fell apart against the pass last season, including in a playoff loss to Pittsburgh. This year, the Ravens have more depth in the defensive secondary and are trying to settle on a starting rotation at cornerback.
• Stefan Logan helped energize Detroit's return game last season, but he's stuck on the Lions roster because of his versatility. With questions in the team's backfield, Logan could be called on again.
