Adam Vinatieri agrees to terms with Colts

Placekicker Adam Vinatieri will return to the Indianapolis Colts on a two-year contract.

The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to terms with placekicker Adam Vinatieri on a two-year contract, according to his agent via an Indianapolis Star report. The Colts later announced the agreement on their Twitter account.

Vinatieri, 41, was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Financial terms were not available, but Vinatieri's last contract with the Colts averaged just over $3 million per season.

Vinatieri raised his value with one of the best seasons of his 18-year NFL career. The 41-year-old made 35-of-40 field goal attempts, including 4-of-6 of 50 yards or more.
