Dez Bryant: I'm in best shape of my career for Dallas Cowboys

As the Dallas Cowboys prepare for another attempt to get over the 8-8 hump, they could be getting an extra boost from star wide receiver Dez Bryant. According to Bryant, he will be entering this season in the best shape of his career.

It would be a perfect time for Bryant to put his best football forward, as he enters the final year of his rookie contract in 2014.

"I am in the best shape that I've ever been," Bryant said, via ESPN.com.

"Trust me, I've been working hard. I've been working six days out of the week. Today is my off day, but I'm going to the facility right now. That's all I've been doing. This year is special."

The biggest question for Bryant when he entered the league was whether or not he would be able to keep himself out of trouble off the field. The Cowboys put some strict guidelines together to protect Bryant from trouble, and he has largely been able to keep his personal life in order throughout his time in the NFL.

Bryant has also picked up his play on the field, with 185 receptions, 2,615 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns over the past two seasons.
