Miami Area

<italics>With Minnesota winning the bid to host the 2018 Super Bowl, SI.com looks back at previous Super Bowl cities. (The next three Super Bowls will be held in Glendale, Ariz., San Francisco and Houston, respectively.)</italics> The South Florida region is tied for first for having played host to the most SB games, including XLIV, in which Drew Brees' Saints defeated the Colts at Sun Life Stadium. Years hosted: 1968, 1969, 1971, 1976, 1979, 1989, 1995, 1999, 2007, 2010.

New Orleans

The Crescent City had the honor of being the first Super Bowl to have head coaching brothers squared off against each other. When all was said and done, John Harbaugh's Ravens got the best of Jim's 49ers. Years hosted: 1970, 1972, 1975, 1978, 1981, 1986, 1990, 1997, 2002, 2013.

Los Angeles Area

L.A. has hosted seven, but none since 1993, when MVP Troy Aikman and the Cowboys throttled the Bills 52-17 in Super Bowl XXVII. Years hosted: 1967, 1973, 1977, 1980, 1983, 1987, 1993.

Tampa

Marcus Allen's 191 yards helped the Raiders to a 38-9 win over the Redskins in Tampa, the site of four Super Bowls, including XVIII in 1984. Years hosted: 1984, 1991, 2001, 2009.

San Diego

San Diego was the site of John Elway's first title, which came in XXXII against the Packers at Qualcomm Stadium in 1998. Years hosted: 1988, 1998, 2003.

Houston

Houston's two Super Bowls came 30 years apart, the first in 1974. The most recent featured Tom Brady's Patriots defeating the Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII at Reliant Stadium. Years hosted: 1974, 2004.

Detroit Area

Detroit's most recent Super Bowl, XL in 2006 at Ford Field, was special for Jerome Bettis. "The Bus" grew up in the city and earned his only NFL championship there, helping the Steelers beat the Seahawks. He retired after the season. Years hosted: 1982, 2006.

Atlanta

Atlanta's most recent Super Bowl, XXXIV in 2000 at the Georgia Dome, featured one of the most memorable plays in Super Bowl history. Rams linebacker Mike Jones tackled Titans receiver Kevin Dyson one-yard short of the goal line on the final play of the game to secure St. Louis' 23-16 win. Years hosted: 1994, 2000.

Phoenix Area

David Tyree's helmet catch helped the Giants knock off the perfect Patriots at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., in Super Bowl XLII in 2008. Years hosted: 1996, 2008

Minneapolis

Super Bowl XXVI, pitting Mark Rypien's Redskins and the Bills, was the only Super Bowl hosted by the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. It would end up being the Bills' second straight Super Bowl loss, a streak that would reach four before it was all said and done. Years hosted: 1992.

Jacksonville

In Jacksonville's lone game, Super Bowl XXXIX at Alltel Stadium, Bill Belichick and the Patriots won their third title in four seasons, beating the Eagles 24-21. Years hosted: 2005.

San Francisco Bay Area

The Bay Area's lone game, Super Bowl XIX, was played at Stanford Stadium, 30 miles away from where the eventual champion 49ers played. Joe Montana led San Francisco over Miami, 38-16. Years hosted: 1985.

Arlington, Texas

Aaron Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers to a win over Pittsburgh in what was the first of likely many Super Bowls to be held in Jerry Jones' lavish stadium. Years hosted: 2011.

Indianapolis

Mario Manningham made the catch of the game, pulling in this one to keep the Giants game-winning drive going in Super Bowl XLVI as New York defeated the Patriots yet again. Years hosted: 2012

New York/New Jersey

The first cold weather Super Bowl wasn't doomed by a blizzard. In fact, the temperatures were in the 40s when the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos squared off. The Legion of Boom defense ruined Peyton Manning's day as Seattle won 43-8.
