The Indianapolis Colts have introduced a fan contest that is nearly impossible to win. If you can correctly predict the kickoff temperature for all Colts games this year (including the preseason), they'll give you $500,000. And as if that wasn't hard enough, for home games the Colts are also making you predict whether the roof at Lucas Oil Stadium will be open or closed.

Of course no one is going to win this money. The meteorologists on TV can't even get the weather right through the end of the week. There's also a strange loophole in the contest rules. If any preseason or regular season game is "canceled, suspended (and not resumed) or preempted (and not resumed) for any reason", then the whole contest is off.

The really tricky part is that the Colts actually have influence over whether the roof is open or not. Imagine: Week 15 against the Texans, December 15th, an early blizzard strikes Indiana and Jim Irsay screams into a phone, "Open the roof! I don't want anyone to win this contest."
