The Chicago Bears started the 2013-14 NFL season, their first under head coach Marc Trestman, by winning their first three games. Jay Cutler went down with a groin injury midway through the season, and Josh McCown took over at quarterback, but the Bears missed the playoffs. Chicago had a chance to win the NFC North, but lost to the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers in Weeks 16 and 17.

Chicago' biggest offseason acquisition is former Minnesota Vikings defensive end, Jared Allen. The Bears' lost defensive end Julius Peppers to Green Bay, wide receiver Devin Hester to Atlanta and McCown to Tampa Bay.

The Bears drafted cornerback Kyle Fuller with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft. They also selected defensive tackle Ego Ferguson, defensive tackle Will Sutton, running back Ka'Deem Carey and safety Brock Vereen in rounds two through four of the draft.
