The Miami Dolphins placed center Mike Pouncey and running back Knowshon Moreno on the physically unable to perform list to begin training camp, The Associated Press reports.

Pouncey had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip on June 23, and may miss the first eight weeks of the season. The center was injured during offseason workouts.

Moreno, who signed a one-year, $3.275 million free agent contract in March, is expected to join practice before the season starts. He had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in June.

Players on the PUP list can be activated at any time during camp, and immediately begin practicing before the 53-man roster is finalized after the final preseason game. If a player remains on PUP going into the regular season, the player is required to miss the first six weeks.
