Seahawks tight end Anthony McCoy, after missing last season with a torn Achilles tendon in his right foot, appears to have torn the Achilles in his left foot.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that a source told him McCoy "is believed to have torn" the Achilles in his left foot.

Speaking with the media after Tuesday's practice, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said the injury seemed serious. “If it is what they think it is, it’s just a real heartbreaker,” Carroll added. “He worked so hard to get back.”

McCoy was competing for the backup spot behind veteran Zach Miller.
