Cowboys QB coach: Back surgery affecting Tony Romo's deep ball
Although Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and quarterback Tony Romo insist that Romo is 100 percent recovered from offseason back surgery, Cowboys quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson think there is something off with some of his throws.
Wilson said that Romo’s deep ball has been inconsistent during training camp practice, although he has been fine on the intermediate routes thrown to receivers.

"It's been OK. I think the deeper the ball goes down the field, it's a little bit more inconsistent," Wilson said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "It's just the nine routes and the deep posts. Those things have been a little inconsistent. I think that's all due to his back."
Romo is not expected to play in the team’s preseason opener against the San Diego Chargers on Thursday.
Romo underwent the season-ending back surgery last December, after getting injured in a Week 16 contest against the Washington Redskins. Romo signed a six-year, $108 million contract extension with Dallas in March 2013, which included $55 million guaranteed -- three million more than Super Bowl MVP-winning quarterback Joe Flacco received from the Baltimore Ravens.
