Raiders owner: Team would be 'well received' in Los Angeles

Friday August 15th, 2014

The Raiders' future in Oakland is still undecided, but team owner Mark Davis says if the team moved back to Los Angeles, they would be welcomed back with open arms.

The team's lease at Coliseum expires after this season. Los Angeles has not had an NFL team since the Raiders and the Rams left after the 1994 season.

"I think we'd be well received if we ever moved back (to Los Angeles)," Davis said to the Los Angeles Daily News. "Raiders Nation is strong in SoCal."

San Antonio could also be in play if the team decides to leave Oakland, after reports team officials have looked into moving to Texas

"It was a serious conversation," Davis said. "I don't waste my time just having meetings. But we continue to try to get something done in Oakland."

NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson, a co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, said earlier this week he believes Los Angeles will have an NFL team again within two years.
