The Cincinnati Bengals have signed linebacker Vontaze Burfict to a contract extension, reports Adam Caplan of ESPN. Adam Schefter reports the deal is worth $20 million over four years, starting with $7.6 million this season.

Burfict made the Pro Bowl and was named to the All-Pro second team last year, his second in the NFL. In 2013, the 23-year-old recorded 115 solo tackles and assisted on 62 more, and also defended eight passes, recorded three sacks and intercepted one pass.

In college at Arizona State, Burfict was named an All-American and Pac-10 Defensive MVP by The Sporting News in 2010. Burfict went undrafted in the 2012 draft, and signed with the Bengals.

He played all 16 games his rookie year, starting 14.
