The Oakland Raiders will place second-year cornerback D.J. Hayden on the physically unable to perform list because of an injured foot, according to ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter

He will miss at least the first six games of the season. It was reported last week the Raiders were likely to do so, as Hayden has not practiced all training camp after surgery last month to repair a stress fracture in his foot.

The earliest Hayden can return is Oakland's seventh game on Oct. 26 at the Cleveland Browns. The cornerback will miss contests against the New York Jets, Houston Texans, New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, San Diego Chargers and Arizona Cardinals.

Hayden, picked by Oakland No. 12 in the 2013 NFL draft, recorded 25 total tackles, one interception and one forced fumble in eight games last season before he was placed on injured reserve because of a sports hernia injury.
