The Seahawks won their first Super Bowl in franchise history last season, defeating the Broncos 43-8. No team has won consecutive Super Bowls since the Patriots in 2004 and 2005. 

Seattle was 13-3 in the regular season, tied with the Broncos for the best record in the NFL.

Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas, two members of the Seattle defense which led the NFL in several categories last season, both signed contract extensions during the offseason. 

Golden Tate, Seattle's leading receiver in 2013, signed with the Lions in free agency.
