The Pittsburgh Steelers finished the 2013 season 8-8, the second consecutive season the team finished .500. The Steelers still almost managed to make the postseason but ultimately fell just short after the Chargers qualified.

Offensively, Pittsburgh ranked 16th in on points scored and 20th in terms of yards gained. Defensively, Pittsburgh finished 14th in points allowed and 13th in yards allowed.

This offseason, the Steelers signed LeGarrette Blount in free agency away from the New England Patriots. Blount will pair with second-year back Le'Veon Bell. The Steelers notably lost receiver Emmanuel Sanders and linebacker LaMarr Woodley.

In the first round of the draft, the Steelers added versatile linebacker Ryan Shazier from Ohio State.

Pittsburgh opens the season this year with two AFC North games. They welcome in the Cleveland Browns to Heinz Field in Week 1, and they take a trip to Baltimore to take on the Ravens in Week 2.
