Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen announced Monday that cornerback Taiwan Jones has a foot injury, according to Steve Cokran of the Contra Costa Times.

Jones did not play in the Raiders season-opening loss to the Jets and was listed as not playing because of a knee issue on the team's injury report.

"I imagine he'll be out for a while," said Allen, who added that it's too soon to discuss putting Jones on the injured reserve list.

Jones switched from running back to cornerback in 2013. He made 12 tackles last season and also had 26 kick returns for 623 yards.

The 26-year-old signed a three-year extension with the Raiders in February.
