Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf faces five years of jail time after he violated the terms of his Texas probation, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Leaf, who pleaded guilty to felony burglary and drug possession in 2012, broke into a home to steal prescription drugs in Montana. A Texas prosecutor said Leaf does not need to be jailed in Texas, with Leaf's attorney saying Leaf was credited for prison time served in Montana.

Leaf starred during his time at Washington State and was drafted No. 2 overall by the San Diego Chargers in 1998 but flamed out after three seasons in the NFL. He is considered one of the biggest draft busts ever.
