Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith said Friday that guard Justin Blalock and wide receiver Harry Douglas will not participate in Sunday's game against the New York Giants, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Blalock's back injury and Douglas' foot injury kept both players out of practice all week.

Douglas' foot injury, suffered in the second quarter of the Falcons' Sept. 18 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sidelined Douglas for last Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

By missing Sunday's game, Blalock will break his streak of 102 consecutive starts.

Plenty of new faces in the Falcons lineup

Harland Gunn is expected to take Blalock's place in the lineup. Gunn was called up from the team's practice squad earlier this week after center Joe Hawley and tackle Lamar Holmes were placed on injured reserve.

Falcons receivers Devin Hester and Julio Jones, both of whom were nursing ankle injuries, were full participants in practice on Friday. Their status for Sunday is probable.

Giants linebacker Jon Beason expects to play vs. Falcons

Atlanta is 2-2 this season and is currently tied for first place in the NFC South.
