NFL confirms investigation into Bills' laser pointer incident on Sunday
The NFL on Tuesday confirmed it's investigating allegations that a fan in the stands of Ford Field in Detroit was shining a laser pointer at Bills players during Buffalo's 17-14 win on Sunday, according to the Associated Press.
Quarterback Kyle Orton and holder Colton Schmidt claimed they had a laser directed at them during the game. Schmidt said the laser was directed at him while holding during a 50-yard field goal attempt. Bills kicker Dan Carpenter banked the attempt off the left upright in the third quarter but later hit a 58-yard attempt with four seconds remaining to seal the win.

NFL spokesman Michael Signora confirmed that the league has received the complaint filed by the Bills and will work with local police to attempt to identify the person responsible. CBS Sports reported that the Lions are also helping in the investigation.
According to the report, a male reportedly tweeted after the game about shining lasers at Orton. The account has since been deactivated.
''Got Kyle Orton complained to the ref when I got him with the laser,'' one deleted tweet from the account (at)MarkoBeslach said, according to a cached version of the Twitter page hosted by Google.
All four major North American sports league ban the use of lasers at their facilities.
