Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell said he will not speak publicly about wide receiver Calvin Johnson’s availability for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Johnson said he has been dealing with a high right ankle sprain over the last couple of weeks. He did not practice Wednesday or Thursday and the team has not listed his status for the Minnesota game.

Caldwell said earlier this week that he would "strongly" consider sitting Johnson this week to help him recover.

Johnson has just three catches for 19 yards the past two weeks in games against the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills. He has 22 receptions for 348 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Running back Reggie Bush and tight end Joseph Fauria are also dealing with ankle injuries and have not practiced this week. Linebacker Travis Lewis has a quadricep injury and has also missed practice.
