Hernandez defense wants police station recordings

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) Lawyers for Aaron Hernandez want copies of any surveillance authorities have of the ex-New England Patriot while he was at a police station.

The defense on Tuesday asked for copies of any video and audio recordings from the North Attleborough police station. A court filing says there ''may or may not be'' recordings and that the surveillance could violate attorney-client privilege, Hernandez's rights and Massachusetts' wiretapping statute.

A state trooper testified during a recent hearing that police used a video recording to discern a number Hernandez dialed on a phone.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty in the fatal shooting of Odin Lloyd in June 2013 in an industrial park about a mile from Hernandez's North Attleborough home.

He also has pleaded not guilty in a 2012 double killing in Boston.
