With the Seahawks tied for second in the NFC West at 6-4 after winning Super Bowl XLVIII last season, head coach Pete Caroll is open to various methods of improving his 11th-ranked offense. Per 710 ESPN Seattle's Brady Henderson:
"He's been very clear in that intent for a long time around here," Carroll told KIRO Radio 97.3 FM on Friday. "It's always been a conversation that we've had, and if I need him I'm going to him and he knows that."
"He was a good receiver growing up and he has tremendous catching range and all that as we've witnessed in his defensive play, and he would love to do it. So he's ready. If we get in an emergency situation, he knows I'm coming to him."
In college at Stanford from 2006-09, Sherman was the Cardinal's leading receiver in his freshman and sophomore seasons, catching 73 passes for 1,232 yards and seven touchdowns in those two years combined.
