Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is out for the season after fracturing his leg against the Colts, forcing the team to turn to rookie Tom Savage. Ryan Mallett, who the team acquired from the Patriots during the season, is out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle

Quarterback problems were what led many to believe that Johnson might hold out for the entire season, although he ultimately ended up reporting to camp on time.
