Gilbert, Hoyer on Browns' inactive list vs Ravens

BALTIMORE (AP) The Cleveland Browns have placed cornerback Justin Gilbert on the inactive list for their game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Gilbert was late for a team meeting Saturday, according to an ESPN report. On Friday, Gilbert vowed he would straighten himself out after an up-and-down rookie season.

Gilbert joins injured quarterback Brian Hoyer and wide receiver Phil Bates on Cleveland's inactive list Sunday. Bates was activated from the practice squad Saturday but did not make the trip.

The Browns were also without suspended wide receiver Josh Gordon and injured quarterback Johnny Manziel. Gordon was suspended Saturday for missing a walk-through.

Connor Shaw was slated to start at quarterback for the Browns.

Baltimore's inactive list includes defensive end Chris Canty and left tackle Eugene Monroe. Both have ankle injuries.
