The Chicago Bears have fired head coach Marc Trestman and general manager Phil Emery, according to multiple reports.

FOX's Jay Glazer first reported Trestman, who went 13-19 in two seasons with the team, had been fired. After the Bears' Week 17 loss, Trestman told reporters he expected to return to the team next season.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the team has also fired Emery. Emery had been the Chicago's general manager since 2012. The Bears compiled a 23-25 record during his tenure. After going 10-6 in 2012, the Bears regressed each of the last two seasons, finishing 8-8 in 2013 and 5-11 in 2014.

The Bears' defense struggled throughout the season, finishing No. 30 in the league in yards and No. 31 in points allowed.

After signing a $126 million contract before the season, quarterback Jay Cutler was benched for Jimmy Clausen in Week 16. After Clausen was injured, Cutler started in Week 17. Cutler finished the season with 3,812 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and a league-leading 18 interceptions.

Last week, Cutler speculated that "everybody could get axed" after the team's disappointing season.
