Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Henry Melton suffered a bone bruise on his right knee that could sideline him for the playoffs, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.com.

Melton was reportedly scheduled for a MRI on Monday. According to Clarence Hill of the Fort Woth Star-Telegram, Melton "will be out a few weeks for sure." That would keep him out of the playoffs, barring a deep run by the Cowboys.

Melton, 28, suffered the injury in Sunday's 44-17 victory over the Washington Redskins. He finished the regular season second on the Cowboys with five sacks one year after being limited to three games in 2013 with the Chicago Bears after suffering a torn ACL.

In light of latest suspension, is Ndamukong Suh worth the trouble?

A fourth-round pick by Chicago in 2009, Melton signed a one-year contract with Dallas that included a three-year team option before this season.

The Cowboys (12-4) won the NFC East and will host the Detroit Lions on Sunday in the first round of the NFL playoffs.
