The New England Patriots tied the Baltimore Ravens 28-28 with a trick pass from Julian Edelman to Danny Amendola in the third quarter of Saturday's AFC Divisional Playoff game.

Quarterback Tom Brady lined up in the shotgun and immediately threw the football to Edelman split out to his left. Edelman -- a former quarterback at Kent State -- then hit Amendola deep down the field, mostly open for a 51-yard score.

The pass was Edelman's first of his six-year NFL career. At Kent State, he was a three-year starter at quarterback. As a senior in 2008, he completed 55.6 percent of his passes for 1,820 yards, 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
