Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy said quarterback Nick Foles is the team's leader.

Foles led the Eagles to a 6-2 record before breaking his collarbone during a Nov. 2 win over the Houston Texans. During those eight games, Foles passed for 2,163 yards with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. The previous season, Foles led the Eagles to an 8-2 record as a starter.

When Foles went down with the injury this season, Mark Sanchez took over as the starter and guided Philadelphia to a 4-4 mark. The Eagles finished in second place in the NFC East, behind the Dallas Cowboys, and failed to make the playoffs.

"I like Nick," McCoy said. "I think the person and the player that everybody thought he was, he is. There were a lot of injuries this year. I think, Nick, obviously got injured. He gets all of the blame and he shouldn't. I think Nick's a good quarterback. He's the leader of our team. And just things didn't work out for him this year due to injury, but we've got his back. And as a team, we didn't play well enough to win and to get into the playoffs."

McCoy, 26, finished fourth in the league this season with 1,319 rushing yards.
