Packers sign punter Cody Mandell

GREEEN BAY, Wis. (AP) The Green Bay Packers have signed punter Cody Mandell.

The team announced the transaction Monday.

Mandell, a 6-foot-2, 217-pound first-year player out of Alabama, appeared in 52 games for the Crimson Tide after joining the team as a walk-on in 2010. For his career, Mandell averaged 42.6 yards per punt and landed 58 punts inside the 20 yard line.

Mandell was waived by the Dallas Cowboys during training camp last summer.
