AFC West Free Agency Capsules

Capsules of AFC West teams heading into free agency. Available salary cap space is an estimate. The 2016 salary cap is $155.27 million per team.

DENVER BRONCOS (15-4)

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: OLB Von Miller (exclusive franchise tag); DB/KR Omar Bolden; S David Bruton Jr.; S Josh Bush; WR Bubba Caldwell; TE Vernon Davis; T Ryan Harris; RB Ronnie Hillman; DE Malik Jackson; G Evan Mathis; WR Jordan Norwood; QB Brock Osweiler; OL Tyler Polumbus; DT Antonio Smith; LB Danny Trevathan; WR Kyle Williams.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: RB C.J. Anderson; S Shiloh Keo; LB Brandon Marshall; LB Lerentee McCray.

NEEDS: The Broncos need to secure Peyton Manning's replacement and bolster both lines. They're bracing to lose Jackson to free agency and are hoping to get some salary cap relief from both OLB DeMarcus Ware and LT Ryan Clady, both due about $10 million in 2016. Clady is coming off a knee injury that sidelined him all of 2015 and T Ty Sambrailo is coming off a shoulder injury that ended his season in September.

AVAILABLE SALARY CAP SPACE: $8 million.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (12-6)

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: S Husain Abdullah, OL Jeff Allen, WR Jason Avant, S Eric Berry (franchise tag), S Tyvon Branch, CB Marcus Cooper, QB Chase Daniel, DE Mike DeVito, CB Jamell Fleming, LB Tamba Hali, DE Jaye Howard, LB Derrick Johnson, CB Sean Smith, OL Donald Stephenson, LB Frank Zombo.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: DE David King, S Daniel Sorenson, RB Charcandrick West, DE Nick Williams, LB Dezman Moses.

NEEDS: Chiefs could lose starting linebackers Hali and Johnson and starting safeties Berry and Abdullah, so both are positions of need. They could also use a cornerback if Smith signs elsewhere, though youngsters Phillip Gaines and Steven Nelson provide some in-house options. Allen has become a versatile stalwart, but GM John Dorsey has shown a willingness to let offensive linemen walk in free agency.

AVAILABLE SALARY CAP SPACE: $19 million.

OAKLAND RAIDERS (7-9)

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: OL Donald Penn, DL Aldon Smith, WR Andre Holmes, OL J'Marcus Webb, WR Rod Streater, S Larry Asante, OL Khalif Barnes, S Taylor Mays, LB Lorenzo Alexander, OL Tony Bergstrom, LS Thomas Gafford.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: DL Benson Mayowa, QB Matt McGloin, DB Neiko Thorpe, WR Jeremy Ross, OL Matt McCants.

NEEDS: Raiders have many building block pieces in place with QB Derek Carr, pass rusher Khalil Mack and WR Amari Cooper. Top task will be upgrading secondary that lost S Charles Woodson to retirement. Oakland will likely look this offseason to add at least two cornerbacks who can play immediately, as well as at least one safety. Finding another pass rusher to team with Mack and a middle linebacker to replace ineffective Curtis Lofton will also be priorities. Biggest needs on offense are on line where Penn leaving would create hole at left tackle. Team also could look to improve at right guard. Finding running back to team with 1,000-yard rusher Latavius Murray also will be crucial.

AVAILABLE SALARY CAP SPACE: $65 million.

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (4-12)

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: T Joe Barksdale, QB Kellen Clemens, TE Antonio Gates, TE Ladarius Green, T Chris Hairston, TE David Johnson, T Jeff Linkenbach, DE Ricardo Mathews, ILB Joe Mays, TE John Phillips, DE Kendall Reyes, CB Patrick Robinson, CB Cassius Vaughn, C J.D. Walton, S Eric Weddle.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: S Jahleel Addae, S Brandian Ross, NT Damion Square, G Johnnie Troutman.

NEEDS: Chargers need pass rusher and help for shaky offensive line. They need to decide if they'll bring back Gates, who turns 36 in June. Losing Weddle, who they didn't want back, creates big hole in secondary.

AVAILABLE SALARY CAP SPACE: $34 million.
