Former Dallas Cowboys kick returner and wide receiver Dwayne Harris says he will sign with the New York Giants

Harris' contract is for five years and $17.5 million, with $7.1 million guaranteed, according to Kimberly Martin of Newsday.

Report: Shane Vereen expected to sign with Giants

Harris was the Cowboys' primary kickoff and punt returner for the past two seasons. In 2014, he returned 30 kickoffs for an average of 24.7 yards and 30 punts for an average of 9.2 yards.

[daily_cut.NFL]Odell Beckham Jr. and Preston Parker returned punts for the Giants last season. Signing Harris could allow the Beckham to relinquish that role and avoid risking an injury.

Parker returned the majority of kickoffs last season, while Quintin Demps and Michael Cox also ran some back.

As a team, the Giants averaged 23.3 yards per kick return and 7.7 yards per punt return.
