ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) The Buffalo Bills have signed free-agent quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who spent the past four seasons backing up Joe Flacco in Baltimore.

Taylor signed a two-year contract Thursday, a day after arriving in Buffalo to meet team officials. He's the second quarterback the Bills have added this week, after acquiring veteran Matt Cassel in a trade with Minnesota.

Both will have an opportunity to compete with EJ Manuel for the starting job.

Taylor is a 2011 sixth-round draft pick, who saw limited action in 14 games with the Ravens. He started more than three years at Virginia Tech and was named the ACC Player of the Year in 2010.

When new Bills coach Rex Ryan was at his previous job coaching the New York Jets, he expressed interest in acquiring Taylor.
