Terrance Knighton said in a radio interview on Friday that he's the best nose tackle in the NFL. The Washington Redskins signed Knighton this week to a one-year, $4 million deal after he spent the previous two seasons with the Broncos.
Knighton was asked about a tweet posted by linebacker DeMarcus Ware, who played with Knighton in Denver last season. Knighton's nickname is Pot Roast. "The fact that Pot Roast is a FA is freaking insane. Best Nose in League #facts" Ware tweeted on Thursday.
Knighton addressed Ware's claim on Friday. "It actually is a fact: I'm the best nose tackle in the league," Knighton said on ESPN 980. "The Redskins got me for a bargain, but I'm going to prove myself, prove my worth in this league."
Knighton, 28, recorded 33 total tackles and two sacks in 2014. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars after being selected in the third round of the 2009 draft. The Redskins also signed defensive tackle Stephen Paea this week.
