The Minnesota Vikings have released receiver Greg Jennings, the team announced Saturday. On Friday, the team traded for receiver Mike Wallace.

Jennings signed a five-year, $45 million deal with the team in March 2013 after spending his first seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Jennings was owed $8.9 million this season, and would have counted $11 million against the Vikings' salary cap.

In 16 games last season, Jennings caught 59 passes for 742 yards and six touchdowns.

Jennings was the Packers' second round pick in the 2006 NFL draft. He won a Super Bowl with the team in 2010.
