Report: Jermaine Gresham having surgery Thursday for herniated disc

Former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham will have surgery on Thursday to repair a herniated disc. Gresham injured his back during the regular season finale and missed Cincinnati’s Wild Card Round loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham will have surgery on Thursday to repair a herniated disc,Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.

Gresham injured his back during the regular season finale and missed Cincinnati’s Wild Card Round loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Earlier this week, Rapoport reported that Gresham was still not recovered from the injury.

Gresham, 26, caught 62 balls for 460 yards and five touchdowns last season.

He was the No. 21 pick in the 2010 draft out of Oklahoma by the Bengals and has played his entire five-year career in Cincinnati. He has amassed 280 catches for 2,722 yards and 24 touchdowns during his career.

Gresham was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2011 and 2012.
