Indianapolis Colts linebacker Erik Walden suffered an arm injury when he and another woman were attacked by Walden’s ex-girlfriend, reports WXIA.

Walden suffered an injury to his arm after being slashed with a knife and the other woman’s arm was broken after being hit with a baseball bat. He was treated at a hospital and released.

According to the Braselton, Ga., police department, Erica Palmer, who has two children with Walden, parked her car about a mile from Walden's residence on March 14 after suspecting that Walden was seeing another woman. She left their two children inside the vehicle, walked to house and broke inside through a back door.

Walden and the women were not home when Palmer broke in, but when they returned, Palmer was sitting on a couch armed with a baseball bat and a weapon that Walden kept in the house.

Palmer ran away after Walden took the gun from her, but not before Palmer hit the other woman with the bat. Palmer reappeared as Walden was on the way to the hospital. Another struggle ensued and Palmer cut Walden’s arm before running away again.

She was later arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, family violence aggravated assault, theft by taking and first-degree burglary.

Walden is from Dublin, Ga., and has 82 tackles and nine sacks over two seasons with the Colts. He also has played with the Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs during seven-year NFL career.
