Report: Dolphins C Mike Pouncey agrees to five-year contract extension

Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey reached a multi-year extension with the team Friday, according to multiple reports.

Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey reached a multi-year extension with the team Friday, according to multiplereports

The extension is for five years and is worth $52.15 million with $22 million guaranteed, according to ESPN.com. 

The deal will make Pouncey the highest-paid center in the NFL. Alex Mack of the Cleveland Browns was previously the NFL's highest-paid center, earning $8.8 million per season. 

The University of Florida product is a four-year NFL veteran who started all but five of the Dolphins' games over a four-season span.

Pouncey played center for the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons, but played predominantly at right guard during the 2014 season. 

He went to the Pro Bowl in  2013 and 2014. 

Pouncey was subpoenaed in 2013 in the grand jury investigation of former New England Patriots tight end and Pouncey's former teammate at Florida, Aaron Hernandez.
